Last Updated: November 2025

By submitting an order request through aim3dprints.com or engaging our services, you ("Customer") agree to the following terms.

1. Services Provided

Aim's 3D Print Shoppe ("we," "us," "our") provides custom 3D printing services using Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technology. We print items based on customer-provided files, selected catalog designs, or custom design requests.

2. Order Process & Payment

2.1 Quotes: All quotes are valid for seven (7) days from issuance. Prices include materials and standard finishing (support removal) unless otherwise specified.

2.2 Deposits: To secure your production slot, a flat non-refundable deposit of $10 is required for standard orders. For large projects (estimated value over $100), we reserve the right to require a 50% material deposit. The deposit is deducted from your final total.

2.3 Final Payment: The remaining balance is due before pickup or delivery. We accept payment via Stripe, Venmo, CashApp, or other methods specified in your quote.

2.4 Cancellation: Orders may be cancelled for a full refund of the deposit only if production has not yet begun. Once the printer has started your job, deposits are non-refundable to cover material and machine time costs.

3. Intellectual Property

3.1 Customer Warranty: By submitting files or design requests, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own the intellectual property rights to the submitted content, OR
  • You have obtained all necessary licenses or permissions for commercial reproduction, OR
  • The content is in the public domain or otherwise free for commercial use.

3.2 Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Aim's 3D Print Shoppe from any claims, damages, or legal fees arising from intellectual property disputes related to your submitted content.

3.3 Our Designs: Designs sourced from our catalog are printed under valid commercial licenses held by Aim's 3D Print Shoppe from their respective creators (e.g., C3D, SabreDesign, MakerWorld, and other authorized vendors). We sell the physical fabrication service; the digital files remain the property of the original creators and are not transferred to the customer.

4. Product Specifications & Limitations

4.1 FDM Printing Characteristics: 3D printed items inherently exhibit:

  • Visible layer lines (typically 0.1-0.2mm)
  • Minor dimensional variance (±0.3mm typical)
  • Surface texture differences between orientations (e.g., "Z-seams")
  • Potential for minor cosmetic imperfections

These characteristics are normal for FDM printing and do not constitute defects.

4.2 Decorative Use Only: Unless explicitly specified in writing as "functional" or "load-bearing," all prints are intended for decorative purposes only. We make no guarantees regarding structural integrity, weight capacity, or mechanical performance. Use at your own risk.

4.3 Material Limitations (The "Hot Car" Warning):

  • PLA: The standard material for most decor. It is biodegradable but heat-sensitive. Do not leave PLA prints in hot cars or direct summer sunlight, as they will warp at temperatures above 60°C (140°F).
  • PETG: Higher heat resistance; suitable for outdoor planters.
  • TPU: Flexible rubber-like material; not for structural support.

You acknowledge these limitations when selecting materials.

5. Inspection & Defects

5.1 Inspection Period: You have three (3) business days from pickup/delivery to inspect your order and report any manufacturing defects (failed layers, missing features, incorrect colors).

5.2 Remedies: For valid defect claims, we will, at our discretion:

  • Reprint the item at no additional charge, OR
  • Provide a partial refund proportional to the defect.

5.3 Exclusions: The following are NOT covered:

  • Damage occurring after pickup/delivery (e.g., dropping the item, leaving it in a hot car).
  • Issues arising from customer-provided files (e.g., geometry errors in the STL, unprintable overhangs).
  • Normal FDM characteristics described in Section 4.1.
  • Dissatisfaction with color appearance (colors may vary between screens and physical plastic).

6. Pickup & Abandoned Items

6.1 Pickup Window: Completed orders must be picked up within fourteen (14) days of completion notification.

6.2 Reminders: We will send a reminder at seven (7) days if the item has not been retrieved.

6.3 Abandonment: Items not retrieved within fourteen (14) days are considered abandoned. We reserve the right to resell, recycle, or dispose of abandoned prints to recoup costs. No refunds (including deposits) will be issued for abandoned items.

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1 Maximum Liability: Our total liability for any claim arising from your order shall not exceed the amount you paid for that specific order.

7.2 Exclusion of Damages: We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Property damage beyond the printed item itself (e.g., a wall hook failing and breaking a mirror).
  • Personal injury arising from product use or misuse.
  • Damages arising from use contrary to stated material limitations.

7.3 Safety Disclaimer: 3D printed items may have small parts. Keep away from children under 3 years of age. We are not responsible for choking hazards or injuries resulting from misuse.

8. Prohibited Content

We reserve the right to refuse any order requesting content that:

  • Infringes on intellectual property rights.
  • Is obscene, defamatory, or illegal.
  • Promotes violence or discrimination.
  • Violates any applicable law or regulation.

Refusal to print prohibited content does not entitle the customer to any refund of deposit if work has already been performed to vet the file.

9. Privacy

We collect only the information necessary to fulfill orders (name, email, phone, pickup address). We do not sell or share your information with third parties except as required to process payments (Stripe) or as required by law.

10. Modifications

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of modified terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Prince William County, Virginia.
